“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14

C
entral Oregon Baptist Church believes that God’s Word is the only authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:15-16). We meet to corporately worship, to communicate truth, to connect with people, and to cultivate life in the community.

Corporately Worshiping:  We gather together to ascribe proper worth to God who alone is worthy of our worship. Our desire is to honor God with singing, giving, and the preaching of God’s Word.

Communicating Truth: We affirm the Bible as the supreme authority for the believer. The Bible alone contains God’s special revelation to humanity. As such, we seek to understand and apply God’s Word to our lives through expositional preaching and teaching.

Connecting with People: We place great importance on the development of relationships. One can only be rightly related with others when he or she is rightly related to God. Therefore, we desire to help people understand from the Bible how they can know God, and we strive to build unity within the church body.

Cultivating Life:  We declare the life-giving message of Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that spiritual life is birthed by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone and is nurtured through the study of God’s Word. We seek ultimate joy and fulfillment in a living God.

offering hope through the proclamation of the Gospel

Would you like to know for sure that you are going to heaven? The Bible says, “It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). Please consider sincerely and honestly God’s simple plan of salvation.
T
he first thing you must know and understand is that every person is hopelessly and helplessly separated from God because of their sinful condition… “having no hope, and without God in the world” (Ephesians 2:12). “As it is written, ‘None is righteous, no, not one…’ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:10, 23).

, you must understand that there is a penalty for your sin. “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23). Spiritual death is eternal separation from God in a literal place called hell (Ephesians 2:1; Revelation 20:15).

the good news is that God has provided a way of escape through the death of His own Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. “He made Him (Jesus) to be sin, who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21). “…the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). “Whoever has the Son has life…” (1 John 5:12).
You see, Jesus willingly died on the cross and shed his blood to pay the penalty of your sins. After He died, Jesus rose victorious over sin and death and offers salvation to you (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). You can admit that you are guilty before God right now and that your sin deserves to be punished. Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God Who died for you on the cross, rose from the dead, and is Lord. And call upon Jesus Christ trusting Him alone to be your Lord and Savior (Romans 10:13).
